6/17/2013 – Eleventh Hour Rescue
Dear Fans of Freedom,
It is with great joy that I’m able to announce that The Fund for Personal Liberty will live on. In a few weeks, the corporation will be transferred to a new board of directors who intend to continue the fight for personal liberty.
Those of you who have been with us since the beginning will remember my frustration that it took 472 days for the IRS to approve our 501(c)(3) status. Our humble little organization may have been among the first to suffer the abuses of the IRS visited upon freedom organizations.
Although the Supreme Court did not agree to hear our appeal, we did learn a lot in the first five years of existence and the organization will be able to take the knowledge and use it in the future.
Thank you to everyone who was a part of the first five years including our plaintiffs, attorneys, donors, media, and vendors.
I will be leaving my position as executive director when the organization transfers to the new board, but I’m sure that many of us will be in touch again, as I am as committed as you to the advancement of freedom.
Martha de Forest
